The problem

Why doesn’t a modern flat’s window “breathe”?

A modern window does not “breathe” not because something is wrong with it — on the contrary, because it is too airtight.

Before — in old wooden windows:

  • ✓ There were gaps and micro-cracks
  • ✓ Air came in naturally
  • ✓ Spontaneous ventilation occurred

In modern PVC, wooden and aluminium windows:

  • ✗ Complete airtightness
  • ✗ Multi-chamber glass units
  • ✗ Seals block the air intake

👉 As a result:

  • • No natural air exchange
  • • Humidity rises
  • • Condensation appears on the glass
  • • Mould can form
  • • The air becomes “stuffy”

It’s important to understand: the window shouldn’t “breathe” — the ventilation system should.

The solution:

  • → Regular airing
  • → Micro-ventilation (if the function exists)
  • → Installing air supply valves
  • → Setting up proper ventilation in the flat

In short: the more modern the window, the more carefully planned ventilation it needs.

The solution

An air supply valve — simple and effective

An air supply valve is fitted in the upper window frame and provides a controlled intake of fresh air without opening the windows. It is almost invisible on the window and does not reduce insulation.

Installation

How is an air supply valve installed?

Installation does not require removing the window — the technician mills the valve into the existing PVC or wooden window frame. The process takes 30–90 minutes per window and leaves no mess.

  • Free consultation and a check of the window’s suitability
  • Installation without removing the window — minimal disruption
  • Precise milling — no cracks or heat loss
  • We work with PVC, wooden and aluminium windows
  • Instructions for adjusting the valve and a 2-year warranty

Questions

Frequently asked questions about ventilation valves

Does the valve damage the window?+
All the ventilation valves we offer are certified and installed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical specification, so the installation process does not harm the window. However, please note: if the valve is removed in the future, technical holes will remain in the window frame through the full depth of the frame — this is a technologically unavoidable part of the installation. We therefore recommend assessing the installation location in advance.
Won’t it be cold in winter?+
No — an air supply valve delivers fresh air in small amounts (15–40 m³/h), which warms up quickly in the room. There is no feeling of a draught. In winter the valve can be fully closed if needed.
Does the valve help against condensation and mould?+
Yes — most condensation and mould problems arise from excess humidity and the build-up of CO₂. An air supply valve provides constant air exchange, which significantly reduces the relative humidity in rooms.
Which windows can a valve be installed on?+
Standard air supply valves can be installed on most PVC windows with a profile width from 58 mm. We also work with wooden and aluminium windows — contact us to check suitability for your specific window.
