Window servicing and care
Regular servicing extends the life of your windows and saves money on repairs.
Wash the frames twice a year
Wash PVC or aluminium frames with warm water and a mild detergent. Never use abrasives or solvents — they damage the surface and speed up ageing.

Locks, hinges and pivots should be lubricated with special window oil. Dry hardware wears out faster and can damage the window frame.

Before the heating season, check the condition of the seals — they should not be hardened, cracked or loose. A worn seal is the main cause of draughts and heat loss.
🍂 SeasonalDon’t delay adjustment — call a technician in time
If the handle turns stiffly, the window does not sit tightly or you cannot set the ventilation position — do not delay. Timely adjustment costs many times less than replacing damaged hardware.
⚠️ ImportantClean the drainage slots
The drainage slots in the lower window profile often get clogged with dirt and leaves. Clean them every spring — otherwise water can get inside and cause damp and mould.
🔄 RegularDon’t prop the open sash with objects
Don’t place anything under the hinge of an open sash — it can break the bottom hinge and the sash will fall out. Use a window restrictor or open only in the ventilation position.
⚠️ ImportantImportant: if a window, when turned, sits slightly unevenly against the frame at the top or bottom, that is a matter of adjustment, not replacement. Contact us before planning a more expensive solution.
Door servicing and care
Well-maintained doors work silently, close tightly and provide security for decades.
Lubricate the hinges once a year
Squeaking doors mean dry hinges. Apply a couple of drops of oil to each hinge and open/close the door several times so the oil spreads evenly.

If the key turns with resistance or the door closes with difficulty, lubricate the lock cylinder with graphite powder or a special spray. Never use sunflower or olive oil — they damage the lock mechanism.

If the door opens by itself or does not close properly, it may be misaligned or incorrectly adjusted. In most cases this is fixed by repositioning the glazing wedges — with no need for replacement.

Once a year, treat the door seals with silicone spray — they will stay flexible, won’t become brittle and will provide better insulation. This helps extend the life of the original seal.
🔄 RegularWatch the gap at the threshold
If you can see a strip of light under the door from outside, air is getting through. In hard frost, ice will start to form there, which can damage the seals. Contact our technicians to fix the problem.
🍂 SeasonalClean the area under a low-threshold door
If the door is almost at floor level or a terrace is nearby, regularly clean the area under the door. Dirt under the leaf stops it sitting tightly against the threshold, which over time deforms the seals and worsens insulation.
🔄 RegularNote: if the door does not close even after adjusting the hinges, the thresholds or the frame structure may have sagged. In such cases a professional inspection is needed.
Mosquito net servicing and care
Proper care ensures the net keeps its shape, protection and tidy look for years.
Wash the net every spring
Before the season, wash the mosquito net with warm water and a mild soapy solution. Use a soft sponge — do not rub or scrape, so as not to damage the mesh fibres.

It is best to remove frame mosquito nets before winter — the weight of snow and the frost can damage the profile and stretch the mesh. Store them in a dry place out of direct sunlight.

The cassette mechanism of a pleated net should be lubricated once a year with silicone spray. This ensures even folding and prevents the cassette from jamming.

The most important thing for the longevity of mosquito nets is careful, considerate use following the operating rules. Then the net will last a very long time.

A small hole in the mesh quickly grows. If the mesh is damaged, it is better to replace the whole panel — an inexpensive solution that keeps the frame and provides full protection.

In winter it is best to keep pleated nets folded — this extends their life. At the start of the season, clean the bottom channel of dirt and lubricate it with silicone spray.
