Frequently asked questions

Why do windows get cold in winter?+
The main causes are: a worn seal (most often), inaccurate window adjustment (the sash does not sit tightly against the frame), a damaged glass unit (loss of airtightness), or insufficient sealing between the frame and the wall. A specialist diagnoses the cause and fixes exactly that — with no unnecessary costs.
How can I find where a draught comes from myself?+
A simple test: hold a lit candle or lighter near the perimeter of the window on a cold day — if the flame starts to flicker, that is where the draught is. For greater accuracy, use a thermal imaging camera, which we offer as a separate service, to see an exact map of heat loss.
Can insulation replace installing new windows?+
In many cases — yes. If the frame and glass unit are in good condition, full insulation can give a result close to new windows for a fraction of the price. However, if the windows are over 25 years old or the frame is warped, full replacement is the better investment.
How much can I save on heating after insulation?+
It depends on the starting condition, but on average clients report a 10–25% reduction in heating costs. For a flat with 5–6 old windows this can mean savings of €80–200 per year — the cost of insulation pays for itself in 1–2 seasons.
What does “full insulation” of one window include?+
Full insulation: checking and replacing the seal, adjusting the window (a tight fit), sealing the joints with silicone around the frame, and a draught check after the work. If needed — additional foam filling and exterior finishing.

Quick diagnostics before the season

The candle test — find a draught in 2 minutes with no special tools

Light a candle or use a lighter and slowly move it around the entire perimeter of the window — between the sash and the frame, along the whole edge, and at the join between the windowsill and the wall. If the flame flickers or goes out, that is where the draught is. Mark the spots and call a specialist for an accurate diagnosis and solution before the cold weather arrives.
